Kindergarten Teacher
I graduated from Queen City High School in Queen City, Texas (Go BULLDOGS!!). I started college at East Texas State University (now Texas A&M) in Commerce, Texas. I spent two years studying there before getting married and moving to Louisiana State University in Shreveport, Lousiana. I finished up at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas.
I hold a bachelor of science degree from Sam Houston State University. I have a lifetime teaching certificate in Texas for grades 1-8. I also hold certifications in Early Childhood and English as a Second Language.
This is my first year to teach in the Okmulgee Public School system, but this is year 21 for me in education. I spent the first 20 years teaching in Queen City, Texas. I taught fourth grade for five years, second grade for ten years, and Kindergarten for the last five years. I spent five years as the campus GT coordinator, and nine years as the campus ESL coordinator. I am currently teaching self-contained second grade.
I married my husband, Clint Morgan, in 2009. He is who brought me to Okmulgee. I have two sons- Dakota Coats, aged 22 and Cameron Coats, aged 17. Clint lived with me in Texas until this past year so my boys could stay in school with their friends. My son Dakota is now a mechanic who takes apart airplanes. He has a little boy named Grayson who is a joy to my heart. My son Cameron is a senior in high school this year back in Texas. He will graduate in May and plans to pursue a degree in computer programming.
When I am not teaching, I love to spend time with my family! I can never spend enough time with my grandson, Grayson. I also like to travel and take pictures. I have been to almost all 50 states and several foreign countries.
