My name is Dottie Hays. I graduated from high school in 1977. I attended Connors State College and then graduated from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater with a bachelors degree in elementary education in 1981. I began teaching in Okmulgee Public Schools in 2007 and have enjoyed teaching third graders since being employed here.
I hope your child is excited and ready for a new school year. Hard work and good behavior will be expected this year so that each child can be successful.
Your child will be bringing home a Tuesday folder each week. Inside will be your child’s work from the previous week. Please check for any papers that need to be signed and sent back the next day.
I will send home a list of spelling words and a classroom agenda to keep you informed of what your child will be learning for the week inside the Tuesday folder. Reading is an important skill in your child’s education so our classroom will be reading a story each week. Please read for at least 20 minutes or longer each night so that your child will become an even better reader this year.
Our school will begin serving breakfast at 7:45 until 8:20. Reading will begin at 8:30 so please make sure your child is on time each morning. If you have questions, you can contact me at the school.
