My name is Mrs. Jacque McGertt. I have taught at Okmulgee Public Schools for the past 27 years. I have taught second grade for 24 of those years. I grew up here in Okmulgee with my parents and sisters. I attended Okmulgee Public Schools from Pre-school through graduation in 1986. Go Bulldogs!!! I attended NEO A&M after graduation and received my Associates degree in 1988. After transferring to NSU, I received my Bachelors Degree in Education in 1990. I worked at Beggs Elementary before starting my career as a teacher here in Okmulgee in August 1991. I have always wanted to be a teacher. My mother worked in the school system for many years and asked me to look into other career fields. But, my heart was in teaching and no one could change that, not even my mother. I am married to my wonderful husband Bryan. He also attended and graduated from Okmulgee in 1983. I have 1 daughter Bailey. She also went to school here and graduated in 2010. She graduated from ECU in Ada, Ok. with a degree in sports medicine. She is now studing for her Master’s. I also have a nephew, Andrew who also attended and graduated from Okmulgee in 2006. He now lives in Okmulgee and also has my 2 amazing “grandchildren” Gabbie and Drew. They are my world. As you can tell we are all Bulldogs at my house. I am a believer in, "Once a Bulldog... Always a Bulldog". Even though our children have graduated and moved on, you will see us following the Bulldogs all over the state. As a family we stand behind our "Hometown" proudly. I can't forget about our dog Charlie. He has been with us for 15 years and is like one of our kids. We feel very blessed to have such a wonderful family. Our Faith keeps us going even with trying times...which sometime I think we have more than our share but nothing we can't handle.
