HELLO,
My name is David Myers and I am a second grade teacher for Okmulgee Primary School. I would like to let you know a little bit about myself.
I grew up right here in Okmulgee. I went to Horrace Mann Elementary(K-5), on to Okmulgee Jr. High, and then Okmulgee High School. Graduated Class of 1981.
“Once a Bulldog... Always A Bulldog!!!”
I received my Associates at Connors State College. I received my Bachelors of Science in Education from East Central University. My dream growing up was to become a teacher and impact young lives. My father was an instructor at OSUIT (Oklahoma State Tech in my day) and a great influence. I also had a great network of teachers in the district that made a great impression on me educationally. I do believe that the education process starts at home from the very beginning of life and then continues into the school systems, and then into the community and lifes experiences. We must do everything in our power to make life long learners in an always changing society.
I am married to my lovely wife, Lisa and we have two children. We met in college and have been married for 34 years. She is also a teacher. She teaches Kindergarten here at the primary as of Dec. 2013. We have two grown children. Our oldest, Alex is 30 and got married in January of 2013. He and his wife Paisley live in Farmmersville, Texas to attend Southwestern Theological Seminary. He is also a cancer survivor! Our youngest, Caitlin is 26 and works full time for an eye doctor in Claremore. She just got married to Aaron Steaurt on June 12,2020. We have lived in Broken Arrow for 23 years and have a daily commute to work. We would eventually like to sell our home and move to Okmulgee.
Finally, but most important is, I am a christian and love the Lord with all my heart. My wife and I are very involved in all the ministries of the church. We are members of Parkview Sequayah Creek in Broken Arrow. We have always been involved in some kind of Childrens/Youth ministry from the beginning of our lives together. We love working with kids and watching them grow up into great young men and women of God.
Thank you for being involved in your child's life and OUR school. WE APPRECIATE YOU!
Thank you for visiting my bio.
